Also maybe the Spybot or some other antivirus (Windows Defender) is maybe being too aggressive and it's blocking any new hooks to be executed from the context menu?! As a test try reinstalling Windows but this time choose US Eng for testing purposes and see if it works. If maybe Igor could look into the any changes in the contect menu hooks which may have changed since version =>18.06 that's the only thing I can think of. It's most likely has to do with the way the newer 7Zip versions hooks into the context menu, since that's not working. It's possible some anomaly due to the localization in conjunction with your Windows language (if I had to guess it would be French perhaps?). I understand that it's only happening in version =>18.06. It is only when it wasn't fixed in 19.00 that I decided to register on Sourceforge to report the bug. We noticed it immediately at 18.06 because we use that feature all the time to open ISOs or inspect EXE files, or extract zipped EXEs without running the EXE, but we thought someone else would report it and so didn't bother to register on Sourceforge to report it. Everything points to a bug introduced in 18.06 carried through to 19.00. We keep an archive of the last two years of all software we install, so we have version 16 all the way to 19, and only 18.06 and 19.0 have this problem, immediately after having installed Win10. Us trying anything suggested in the posts is really not relevant : we are talking about the problem happening before any software has been installed. ![]() Something changed in 18.06 which has indirectly resulted in this. I suspect the problem is with non-US/Russion versions of Windows because we get it immediately after the install of Windows, before we install our own stuff, so it is definitely 7-Zip because if we install 18.05 immediately after installing Win10, no problem at all. We've been using 7-Zip since version 9, moved to 64-bit as soon as it was available, and no problems until 18.05. Hi Bill - already tried all of that even though none of it is really relevant to the issue. Right-click \ 7-Zip \ Open Archive does NOT open them either. Hi Igor again - I decided to call the user of the laptop we set up yesterday and asked if I could connect to test something, and I did the test you mentioned and the behaviour is the same for. But I have a Win8.1Pro64 at home and I will test it on that. Like Bill Ant, I use Win7Pro64 on my work PC (I am the only one who still uses Win7) and I have not installed 18.06 or 19.0 on it because I simply do not want to deal with that hassle, so I cannot confirm whether it screws up on Win7 as well. We are an IT company and we use a lot of Microsoft's ISOs and that is how we have always opened them so we can extract the content and run the Install file.Īnd one more thing I have not mentioned : once we install either 18.06 or 19.0, uninstalling those and reverting back to 18.05 does not solve the problem because both 18.06 and 19.0 mess things up permanently. ![]() I have used Right-click \ 7-Zip \ Open Archive on ISOs since version 9 of 7-Zip and it has always worked, that's a lot of years, and that is why it is a problem. Personally I do not think I need to test for any of the extensions that you mention because for those I simply double-click on the file, and that works in all versions. ![]() ![]() ![]() Kidd PM (2005) Neurodegeneration from mitochondrial insufficiency: nutrients, stem cells, growth factors, and prospects for brain rebuilding using integrative management. In practice, olms and cave toads roll into the tavern and get mashed, and everyone has a little excitement. Anything nasty has to come through the tavern, which is always full of off duty troops, monster hunters, and bards, many of whom carry weapons. This allows the monster hunters to do their thing in the caverns, then come back and have a drink. I have a habit of making a caverns tavern be a buffer between my fort and the caverns. Where tavern defence comes into play, for me, is in the caverns. So really, tavern never actually ends up as a defense, but is there just in case. Then i send my boys out to surround sieges as the siege comes through trap valley to try and get into my fort. Though the way i play, i usually have a small army built up in the 1st few years, and put up outside walls, gates and doors to funnel invaders where i want them. One nice side benefit of this is it keeps visitors from going deeper into the fort and causing trouble.Īs the fort progresses, I add a long side passage with bridge and lever to send sieges down, coming back around to the tavern and barracks. I usually do barracks and tavern next to depot, then a passage deeper into the fort. Early game, having your main entrance go through the tavern makes it nearly impossible for thieves or kea to sneak in, and provides meat shields at least in case of invasion. ![]() I have definitely done this, and it can be rather effective. Taverns can provide a massive population boost of useful and interesting visitors who provide value to your fortress, such as the aforementioned mercenaries, monster hunters and beast hunters who actively seek out dangerous enemies, performers too keep your dwarves entertained, and scholars who might bring or even write interesting works (just be careful they don't steal yours!).Īlso, post is up for sharing your own defensive tactics. Throw your trade depot into the tavern hall (near the cellar doors for ease of hauling), and you can add caravan guards to for entrance defenses. By making the tavern your primary entrance, you ensure any hostile forces will have to fight their way in without needing to risk any dwarven blood. While at first glance they might seem like useless freeloaders eating up what little food and ale you have, they are fully armed and trained warriors who will remain stationed at the tavern. One of the first visitors you will likely receive are mercenaries. Taverns are going to be one of the busiest spots in any fortress, which ensures that any sneaky thieves will have to get past a great many watchful (or, more likely, drunken) eyes before they can reach anything of value you might really miss. This comes not only from the glory of the hall itself inspiring the dwarves, but also from the recreation value idle dwarves gain from having entertainment rather than merely waiting in place. Taverns can provide all three: A cellar beneath for secure storage, the main tavern for dining, and a dormitory above to provide a safe place to sleep.Īs mentioned, taverns are a MASSIVE source of happy thoughts (so long as you don't serve alcohol, which leads to brawls and death), keeping those nasty tantrum spirals far away. Three of the first things your fortress will need are storerooms, dining tables and a place to sleep (you could argue food and drink, but foraging can handle both). Here are a few of my top reasons for making them the first place you dig. Not only will a good tavern (sans barkeep) be a MASSIVE mood boost to native dwarves (thereby preventing tantrum spirals), but making them your primary entrance can prove a vital early defense. ![]() The tavern is one of the best, and least utilized, defenses available in the game. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Note that ‘-a’ is necessary when running Grive2 for the first time as it helps the client connect to your Google Drive account. Have you tried using a framework like Foundation very good for responsive design. Open this Pen and resize the viewport width. Haven’t used them? Ahmad Shadeed conducts a fantastic deep dive in this article. Combining this layout technique and a fluid container max-height using the CSS clamp() function, we can develop something that adjusts based on the available viewport space while anchoring the hero image to the center of the container.ĬSS clamp(), along with the min() and max() comparison functions, are well-supported in all modern browsers. Because of this, the content strategy team has requested that some of the pertinent page content below the hero remain visible in the viewport as much as possible. ![]() Although the image is capped with a max-width, it scales up to be quite tall on desktop.
